Elder Ulisses Soares Of the Presidency of the Seventy Brothers and sisters, please consider the importance of the invitation King Limhi gave to his people and its relevance to us. He said, “Lift up your heads, and rejoice, and put your trust in God.” With these words, Limhi invited his people to look to the future through the eyes of faith; to replace their fears with the optimism of hope born of faith; and to not waver in placing their trust in God regardless of circumstance. Mortal life is a period of testing where we will be proven to see if we will do all things that the Lord our God shall command us. This will require unwavering faith in Christ even in times of great difficulty. It will require that we press forward with steadfast faith in Christ, being led by the Spirit and trusting that God will provide for our needs. https://www.lds.org/general-conference/2017/04/confide-in-god-unwaveringly?lang=eng

President Dieter F Uchtdorf . . . in our efforts to help our loved ones experience the voice of the Spirit and the vast, eternal, and profound beauty of the gospel of Jesus Christ, telling them to “listen harder” may not be the most helpful way. Perhaps better advice—for anyone who wants to increase faith—is to listen differently. The Apostle Paul encourages us to seek the voice that speaks to our spirit, not just to our ears. He taught, “The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit.” Or perhaps we should consider the words of Saint-Exupéry’s Little Prince, who said: “One sees clearly only with the heart. Anything essential is invisible to the eyes.” https://www.lds.org/general-conference/2016/10/fourth-floor-last-door?lang=eng S

Elder Kevin R. Duncan shares a simple experience that reminds us that “. . . an unforgiving heart harbors so much needless pain. When we apply the healing ointment of the Savior’s Atonement, He will soften our heart and help us to change. He can heal the wounded soul (see Jacob 2:8). . . . Forgiveness is the very reason God sent His Son, so let us rejoice in His offering to heal us all. The Savior’s Atonement is not just for those who need to repent; it is also for those who need to forgive. If you are having trouble forgiving another person or even yourself, ask God to help you. Forgiveness is a glorious, healing principle. We do not need to be a victim twice. We can forgive. https://www.lds.org/general-conference/2016/04/the-healing-ointment-of-forgiveness?lang=eng

President Uchtdorf’s story of Great Aunt Rose, Eva and the Creepy Cat. "My beloved sisters, my dear friends in Christ, I hope and pray that something in this story has touched your heart and inspired your soul. ". . . As I knocked on Brother Wright's door and heard his feeble voice call, "Come in," I entered not only his humble cottage but also a room filled with the Spirit of the Lord. I approached Brother Wright's bedside and carefully placed a piece of bread to his lips. I then held the cup of water, that he might drink. As I departed, I saw tears in his eyes as he said, "God bless you, my boy." And God did bless me--with an appreciation for the emblems of the priesthood which I held." President Thomas S. Monson http://youtu.be/wTpllXfM6aQ

" '. . . Many of the things you can count, do not count. Many of the things you cannot count really do count.' " . . . Do [our goals] look impressive from a distance but fail to address the real needs of our fellowman?" President Dieter F. Uchtdorf http://youtu.be/Ko2zw0cBCCs

“And I will be a Mormon pioneer by finding new ways to embrace our global brotherhood and sisterhood, to be a peacemaker, and to be a representative of the Savior in our world, which has moved into global territory. This is a triumph but also the beginning of a monumental challenge.” Melissa Inouye https://www.lds.org/church/news/pioneers-in-every-land-lecture-addresses-churchs-global-historical-landscape?cid=HP_MO_7-13-2015_dCN_fCNWS_xLIDyC-3_&lang=eng
